<h1>In-Pak Nr. 4 (2009) Page 24</h1>LEVERANDØROVERSIGT Frugtstykker på den nemme måde Da Del Monte skulle lancere deres nye frugtstykker havde de et lille problem. De mente ikke at kunne finde den optimale emballage blandt det store udbud. Årsagen var, at virksomheden havde en række krav, som emballagen skulle matche, før den ville gøre sig godt til det nye produkt. Serien af ready to enjoy-frugtstykker er ikke friskskåret frugt, og derfor skulle emballagen være med til at holde frugten frisk, men også fremhæve den blandt mange andre emballager. Ydermere skulle den være så tilpas elegant, at den kunne tages direkte fra køleskabet og sættes på bordet. Løsningen kom fra RPC, som har udviklet en såkaldt peel-free plastbeholder, hvor man under produktionen har benyttet sig af en teknik, som kaldes Finite Elements analysis. Fidusen er, at der kommer en slags ribber i væggen på emballagen. Det giver bedre egenskaber i forhold til bl.a. vakuum. Endnu findes der kun tre forskellige varianter, rød grapefrugt, hvid/rød/appelsin, og rød/hvid grapefrugt. Og inden tænderne for alvor løber i vand, så har Del Monte valgt foreløbig kun at markedsføre de lækre frugtstykker på det amerikanske marked.
